The 49ers lost wide receiver Deebo Samuel early in their Week 6 loss to the Browns. He suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter, was listed as questionable to return, and then was ruled out after halftime.
X-rays on Samuel’s shoulder were negative per NFL insider Jordan Schultz and NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Samuel is expected to have an MRI on Monday. Schultz also reported the team doesn’t believe the injury is serious.
A shoulder injury earlier this season forced Brandon Aiyuk to miss one game on a short week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will speak with reporters Monday at which point he should have more of an update on the wide receiver, RB Christian McCaffrey and LT Trent Williams. All three were banged up in Sunday’s loss.
