45 new homes set to be built on former Caerphilly police station site

A former police station in Caerphilly is set to be transformed into 45 new homes. Linc Cymru, a housing association and care provider, has appointed JG Hale Construction Ltd as contractor to develop the apartments at the site in Mountain Road, Caerphilly.

The plan consists of one detached block of six apartments, which will provide supported housing accommodation. A second block of 39 apartments will provide both general needs homes and apartments for people with learning difficulties. Construction is expected to begin later this month.

The new homes will be located on the site of a former police station, which was demolished in 2016 when it was owned by a private landowner. According to the association, the development will be "energy efficient" and designed "with residents' wellbeing in mind". It will include greenery and a pond with seating area in the main front garden.
