Four-star linebacker recruit Chris Cole is one of the most versatile recruits in the class of 2024 recruiting cycle. He plays safety and wide receiver in addition to linebacker. Cole’s background playing safety helps him immensely in coverage as a linebacker.
Chris Cole plays football and runs track for Salem High School in Salem, Virginia. Cole is ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Virginia and the No. 58 prospect nationally. Cole is the No. 6 linebacker in the class of 2024.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker has excellent speed. Cole set a school record in the 60-meter dash recently. The Salem standout has committed to playing in the 2024 Under Armour-All-America Game.

Chris Cole visited Miami in June. James Williams, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound safety, has similar size and versatility to Cole.

Tennessee needs defenders such as Chris Cole if the Volunteers want to make more noise in the SEC. Cole visited Knoxville, Tennessee, in late July.

USC is another school that is light on defensive talent. Lincoln Riley teams have consistently had good offenses, but have been unable to get over the hump on the defensive side of the ball. Cole made it to USC for a visit in June.

Chris Cole recently visited Georgia in June 2023. The Bulldogs have the No. 1 class of 2024 in the nation. Georgia is the best program in the country at recruiting linebackers and is favored to land a commitment from Chris Cole, per 247Sports.
