₹36 lakh job offer vs ₹25 lakh salary: Gurugram techie says higher package brings lower take-home, flags Mumbai cost worries

A tech professional based in Gurugram with nearly six years of experience has turned to the internet for guidance after receiving a puzzling job offer. Despite being offered a higher salary package, the actual take-home pay appears lower, leaving the individual uncertain about making the switch.

Higher CTC but Lower Monthly In-Hand

The Mumbai-based opportunity offers a compensation of ₹36 lakh per annum (LPA), significantly higher than the current ₹25 LPA the techie earns in Gurugram. However, a detailed breakdown revealed an unexpected twist, lower monthly in-hand salary.

The key difference lies in the structure of the salary. While the current package is entirely fixed, the new offer includes a sizable performance-based variable component of ₹6 lakh.
