Discover secret bars
The only thing better than a chic cocktail bar is one that nobody, or at least not everybody, knows about. Among Paris’ most fun secret bars and speakeasies is LAVOMATIC, accessed through a washing machine-shaped door in a launderette near Place de la République. To enter, you have to find the correct button on the machines, and then you can enter the door and follow the spiral staircase to discover a hidden speakeasy-style bar.
Moonshiner is also one of the most popular and best speakeasy bars in Paris. This hidden gem is located in the 11th arrondissement and is known for its creative cocktails and cosy atmosphere.
To enter Moonshiner, you’ll need to find the right door which is a small door hidden at the back of a pizza shop on Rue Sedaine. The Moonshiner is a popular spot and fills up pretty quickly, so it's recommend to get there early if you want the chance to enjoy one of the coolest cocktail bars in Paris.
Take in Paris’ famous rooftops
Sipping a cocktail at a rooftop bar while watching the sunset is my idea of heaven. The city’s grey zinc rooftops are one of its most attractive features, despite UNESCO’s decision not to give them heritage status (just yet). There’s nowhere better to admire them than from a rooftop bar, with a drink in hand and a DJ on the decks nearby, and Le Perchoir in the Marais are one of the best.
Cruise along the canals
Taking a sunset cruise along the Siene is a very popular excursion to do while in Paris. There are many different companies that you can book a sunset cruise on, tickets start from around £15 per person.
A cruise is one of the best ways to discover the city. Some of the tours include French crepe tasting at the foot of the Eiffel Tower while being able to admire the views of the incredible monument and the Seine before or after your cruise.
A cabaret
Some might think that cabaret in Paris begins and ends with high-kicking girls of the Moulin Rouge but there are a whole host of alternative venues to experience. To escape the tourist crowds of the Moulin Rouge, you can try the Crazy Horse and the Paradis Latin.
You can secure your flights to Paris for £31 here.
