3-time Bulls champ hopes Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen ‘work it out’

In the 1990s, the Chicago Bulls were on top of the world. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen led them to six championships in eight seasons. Just a few years ago, “The Last Dance” came out – a documentary detailing the 90s Bulls and, more specifically, their last season and last championship together.

However, since then, Pippen and Jordan have been publicly beefing, with Pippen doing most of the talking. He recently called Jordan “a horrible player.” During a recent chat with HoopsHype, Scott Williams, who was a part of the first three Bulls title teams, spoke about the pair’s ongoing feud.

He said that he hopes Jordan and Pippen can sit down and work things out at some point, but he has no plans on getting in the middle of it all.

“Yeah, it’s been sad for my heart to really see and listen to some of the things that have been going on with Scottie. I don’t hear much from Michael. On Michael’s side, he just seems to be quiet on it. But Scottie is really upset, and I don’t particularly know 100 percent all of it. I just try to stay in my lane and let those heavyweights battle those types of things out, but I hope that they find some time to pick up a phone or sit down together and work it out.”

Williams doesn’t fully understand why Pippen was so upset at the documentary.

“I get it as Michael Jordan financed the documentary, and I’m sure he stirred a little bit towards himself because of that, but he gave Pippen the ultimate compliment that he was my favorite teammate of all time, and without Scottie I don’t win the six championships,” said Williams. “So I don’t understand what more he really wanted from Michael that Michael didn’t give him that is considered a slight. That’s the hard part for me on that one.”

For now, it seems like Jordan’s and Pippen’s beef will continue.
