JAIPUR: Eight members of a family of Phagi village situated in the outskirts of Jaipur were killed and one child was injured when a truck coming from opposite direction fell down onto their moving car near Ramnagar in Dudu area on Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Thursday noon.
All of them were on their way to Ajmer, situated Dargah of Khawaja Moinudhin Chisthy, however they could never reach their destination. The car under the truck was badly smashed and the bodies got glued on the road. A biker was also injured in the accident.
The incident took place at 12.30pm when a truck coming from Ajmer side got its tyre burst and lost control. Thereafter, the truck fell down onto a moving Altro car in which family of nine were travelling to Jaipur, police said.
“Some locals intimated us about the accident. With the help of cranes the truck was removed from the site. Bodies were beyond identification and got glued on the road. The driver of the truck managed to flee from the scene,” said Rajiv Pachar, Superintendent of police, Jaipur(Rural) said.
A large number of policemen and rescue team reached at the spot. “Bodies got cut into pieces. However one child identified as Arman(5) years got saved as he has sustained injuries and was rushed to the SMS hospital for the treatment. The relatives of this family have been intimated,” Pachar added.
A biker also got injured in the accident was also been rushed to the hospital.
It was a horrifying scene even for the police team that were collecting the pieces of the bodies. “The car is fully damaged and we just got the number plate intact through which we could make the identification of vehicle and further of the deceased,” said Dinesh Sharma, additional SP, Jaipur(Rural)
Meanwhile locals alleged that the construction work of at least six bridges is on the national highway connecting Ajmer to Jaipur side and this has led to the accident.
Babu Lal Nagar, MLA from Dudu said, “We will have a word with the construction company to take all the precautions and should not spill over boulders and other raw materials on the road. The deceased would be given compensation as per government norms.”
The deceased were identified as Haseena(45), Israel(29) the wife and son respectively of one Hanif, Farzana(27) wife of Israel and Rohina(8) daughter of Israel, Murad son of Hanif, Shaqeel(45), Sonu(14) and Seran(3). However, Arman(5) who too was traveling with this family in the car got injured.
