NAGPUR: Increasing tiger numbers to natural carrying capacity at priority sites, expanding the range by improving the quality of occupied habitat for tigers, preventing any further losses in tiger populations, and recovering and sustaining tiger populations in all major ecological settings are some of the suggestions for the tiger range countries for 2034, the next lunar year of the tiger.
The vision document has been prepared by Fauna & Flora International, International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Panthera, TRAFFIC, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the six NGOs closely involved with tiger conservation and strong supporters of the Global Tiger Initiative (GTI) and Global Tiger Recovery Program (GTRP).
