A calming color that sits somewhere between blue and green, this in-between hue is a more adventurous replacement for neutrals in 2025, designed to complement traditional and modern homes alike.
In addition to Quietude, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams also launched a color palette for 2025, called Naturally Refined. Spanning 10 hues, this color palette is inspired by a slow and sustainable pace to life, with neutral and earthy shades leading the way.
Rumors, Behr
Marking a shift away from decorating with blue, Behr's 2025 Color of the Year is a rich ruby red called Rumors. Coinciding with the general appeal we've seen in the design world for decorating with red, thanks to the unexpected red theory, this paint color is a sophisticated hue that isn't too vibrant.
Enabling homeowners to bring warmth and cozy appeal to their homes, this red paint can be used boldly with color-drenching ideas, or more sparingly in smaller doses. Either way, we expect to see lots of love for this shade since it's so timeless.
Elderton, Graham & Brown
Continuing the theme of dark paints, Graham & Brown's Color of the Year for 2025 is Elderton, a rich brown paint that boasts plenty of timeless appeal. Inspired by nature, this rich and alluring hue is all about an elevated take on decorating with neutrals in 2025, filling our homes with warmth and sophistication.

Similarly, C2 Paint recently revealed Raku as its standout shade for the year ahead, a deep brown color with warm red undertones. While there's no denying the drama of this hue, it's also said to have restful qualities:
'Raku is an expression of balance, comfort, and timeless elegance,' explains Philippa Radon, C2 Paint Color Director. 'In a world where polarizing views can divide and isolate, Raku offers a palette that returns us to simple, grounding pleasures. This rich hue, with its deep cordovan earthy brown hue and sanguine undertones, embodies the art of revitalizing the old with the succession of its renewal – an echo of a timeless classic flourishing in a modern world.'

Cinnamon Slate boasts a cozy and restful quality. Since it's not too saturated, it allows homeowners to incorporate a rich, grounding color without making too much of a statement.
In addition to this singular hue, Benjamin Moore also revealed its 2025 Color Trends palette, comprising nine earthy shades that serve as a new way to do neutrals.

A whole range of colors ranging from white paints to bolder hues feature within the palette, celebrating color for the year ahead in a unique way. While the mix is varied, inspiration comes from vintage color palettes typical of '70s design.

Purple Basil, Glidden
Glidden's Color of the Year 2025 is Purple Basil, a warm purple hue that feels instantly retro. Further proving to us all that purple really is set to be the standout shade for 2025, this paint color is bold and daring.
We can imagine this shade elevating maximalist color ideas, adding a nostalgic feel that's both unexpected and comforting. Since this paint color is guaranteed to make a statement, it's best to lean in and fully embrace it with color-drenching ideas for the ultimate cozy, dramatic space.
True Joy, Dulux
Adding yellow room ideas into the mix, Dulux's 2025 Color of the Year is True Joy, a saturated and uplifting yellow paint.
Perhaps one of the most mood-boosting colors yet, this vibrant shade feels reminiscent of the summer months, allowing homeowners to embrace the dopamine decor trend. If you're somebody who loves the liveliest shades, this one may be for you. Used sparingly or boldly, we're looking forward to seeing how yellow crops up in interior spaces next year.
Caramelized, Dunn-Edwards
Serving up more of a neutral shade, Dunn-Edwards' Color of the Year for 2025 is Caramelized, an earthy terracotta with hints of brown so it's not too saturated.
Incredibly flattering and liveable, this color essentially works in place of neutrals, providing rooms with an earthy quality and subtle warmth. This is an ideal paint color choice for those who don't want to go too bold or lively with color choices, but want to switch things up from colors like beige.
