California native Josephine Elaria George Nasr was a 19-year-old law student with her best years seemingly ahead of her. But on the night of Sept. 23, 2025, Nasr was unexpectedly found dead on the bathroom floor of her university dorm room in London. The official UK coroner’s inquest into her death was finally completed and released in August 2026, and its findings suggest that a GLP-1 weight-loss drug may have played a role.
According to People, Nasr was a second-year international law student at the University of East London at the time of her death. On that night, she had administered a dose of Zepbound, a weight-loss medication containing the active ingredient tirzepatide. Shortly after taking the drug, Nasr experienced severe, continuous vomiting and physical distress.
