19-year-old moped driver dies after collision with pedestrian in Kensington

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage moped rider died following a collision in Kensington.

The 19-year old was fatally injured after a collison involving a pedestrian.

Police were scrambled to the scene at the junction of Earl’s Court Road and Stratford Road at 11.13pm on Monday and found the rider and a pedestrian, 57, with injuries.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Paramedics battled to save the moped driver’s life but he died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

The pedestrian is in hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out a number of enquiries. They are appealing for witnesses or from anyone who may have dash cam footage.
