We are back in Mobile for another day of action at the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl. After a hard-hitting day one of action for the National team, they are back for another round of competitive one-on-ones and team drills to gear them up for the Senior Bowl game this Saturday at noon CST (NFL Network).
Managing Editor Tyler Forness has boots on the ground in Mobile, giving us insights on both teams as the 100+ NFL draft prospects duke it out to gain draft positioning.
Here are 12 takeaways that he took from day two of the National Team’s Senior Bowl practice.
Michigan WR Roman Wilson continues to shine
Michigan’s Roman Wilson continues to show that he is one of the top receivers who made the trip to Mobile on day two.
Wilson was getting easy separation from defensive backs and was making spectacular grabs to impress the crowd further.

Toldeo CB Quinyon Mitchell looks the part of CB1
For teams needing a cornerback, the best one may have stepped foot in Mobile this week.
Toldeo’s Quinyon Mitchell continues to impress with his smooth movements and patience during the route. Mitchell may be one of the biggest risers this week, as he’s looked every part of a top-20 pick.

North Carolina WR Devontez Walker showing limitations
There is no doubt that North Carolina’s Devontez Walker is a specimen of a human being. That wasn’t enough to hide his limitations as they shined brightly today.
Tez showed a limited route tree, and while he did find some success, he will have to rely on his athleticism to get open until he gets more refined.

Penn State CB Kalen King regresses
Penn State’s Kalen King was under-the-radar for the first day, but his deficiencies shined brightly today.
King couldn’t get his hands on receivers and was consistently stumbling as they stemmed their routes.

New Hampshire RB Dylan Laube shines again
New Hampshire’s Dylan Laube shines again as he impresses beyond the usual RB-LB drills the Senior Bowl is known for.
Laube went up against DBs today, who were also no match, as he showed his comfort running routes from the slot.

Rutgers CB Max Melton impresses with patience
Some corners like to take the fight to the receivers. Others are more comfortable letting the fight come to them. Rutgers’ Max Melton is in the latter and has looked impressive doing it.
Melton has shown great patience, allowing the receiver to commit to their route and exploding with his athleticism to make a play.
I'm all in on Rutgers CB Max Melton. has played with great patience and been in a position to make a play every rep in one on ones today

UCLA EDGE Laiatu Latu shows first-round talent
UCLA’s Laiatu Latu showed how smooth he was on day one. On day two, Latu decided to show off his moves against the competition.
Latu looked unblockable as he shredded through would-be blockers to the quarterback. Looking as advertised.

Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley continues to shine
One name that sticks out because of his versatility this week is Western Kentucky’s Malachi Corley. Corley worked with both the wide receivers and running backs today and has looked good doing it.
He took a reverse 35 yards down the field before laying the wood on a cornerback that got a nice reaction from the crowd.

Ohio State DL Michael Hall makes some noise
Ohio State’s Michael Hall is starting to make some noise here on day two. He has gotten consistent penetration and is making an impact in both individual drills and 11-on-11s.
He’s even got a PBU against Notre Dame QB Sam Hartman.
I like what I've seen out of Ohio State defensive lineman Michael Hall. Here, he gets past the center and sacks Michael Penix Jr. on third down.
Hall also had a really good rep against Jackson Powers-Johnson in 1 on 1s. pic.twitter.com/RMAg4ELL1U

Notre Dame QB Sam Hartman is a bit scattershot
Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman has been errant on his throws on day two.
The consistency he needed to show was simply not there as he struggled on the day.

Kansas EDGE Austin Booker torches tackles
Kansas’ Austin Booker has made a name for himself with his explosion around the edge. His mixture of explosion and the power from the punch in his hands made him tough to deal with.

Oregon QB Bo Nix struggles...again
Oregon’s Bo Nix has had a week to forget so far. The inconsistencies in his accuracy are still prevalent and he just wasn’t seeing the field well.
Not the start he was looking for.
“Have you even watched Bo Nix tape BRO!!!”
Yeah like I said, the one QB I do not want. Terrible under throw for a pick followed by a terrible overthrow to erase a TD…… pic.twitter.com/li7OesYYTF
