Fans of the series 1000lb-Sisters have been left speechless by Amy Slaton’s ‘dangerous’ surgery request.
Viewers of the TLC series saw Tammy achieving her weight goal to qualify for bariatric surgery, whilst fans were shocked when Amy asked whether she could try undergoing the surgery for a second time.
But home audiences would have been taken aback during this week’s episode when she spoke to Dr Procter and asked if he could “redo” her weight loss procedure.
Tammy went under the knife, and the surgery went well, despite having some minor complications with her small bowel.
She has now been advised to rest and recover for two weeks from the operation, while Amy decides whether to proceed with her own surgery.
Amy spoke to the doctor on the phone to discuss the recovery after her two pregnancies, after welcoming two-year-old Gage and seven-month-old Glenn with her husband Michael Halterman - who she has now allegedly split from .
Amy reported that her weight was 275lbs to the doctor, who was pleased that she only gained six pounds since her pregnancies.
However, the surgeon disagreed with her wanting to attempt another weight loss surgery when she asked for it to be “redone”.
Fans quickly flocked to social media to share their thoughts on Amy’s surgery request, with many believing that it would be a dangerous decision for her to undertake.
Taking to Reddit, one viewer - u/maple_dreams said: “Amy asking Dr. Proctor if they need to ‘redo’ her surgery, omfg is she for real?
“She didn’t do too great the first time around wtf makes her think the second time would be successful??”
Another user, u/GrannyB1970, wrote: “Redo the surgery??? Holy c**p Amy why not actually oh, I don't know, follow the freaking diet??? For once.”
Meanwhile, u/Friendly_Goose6023 penned: “The nerve of Amy asking the doctor to redo the surgery lmao. She didn't even try the first time.
“I remember how angry the doctor was when she said she ate burritos the day after surgery. He said she could've ripped the stitches out but she didn't care.
“And then getting pregnant right away when he said to wait for two years. And not following the diet whatsoever (and blaming the ‘baby's’ cravings). And not having any progress at all in the past year since the last visit.”
