1000-lb Sisters stars praise Tammy Slaton for achieving milestone after huge weight loss

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton was inundated with gushing praises after achieving a new milestone after dramatic weight loss.

The 36 year old has come a long way on her weight loss journey after suffering a terrifying medical scare which saw her family told to prepare for the worst.

She has since lost a whopping 300lb (21.4 stone), which came after she was rushed to hospital when she stopped breathing amid her health woes.

But in a new snap alongside her sister Amy, Tammy certainly looked in much better spirits despite still needing the assistance of an oxygen machine.

Fans were quick to congratulate her on her milestone achievement, with one person online commenting : "Happy she's able to be out and about! Independence and being able to participate are amazing motivators to keep the journey going.

Tammy admitted she was "thankful to be alive" (@queentammy86/Instagram)

Another added: "Go Tammy! I hope whatever is inspiring her keeps going!" while a third added: "Congratulations!!! We're all so proud!!."

A fourth echoed: "Yes!!! We love to see it!!!" while someone else gushed: "Good on her! Wishing her continued success and a return to good health."

This comes after Tammy admitted she was "thankful to be alive" after her weight loss transformation.

Tammy had been spending time at a food rehabilitation centre to try and shed the pounds but was rushed to hospital when she stopped breathing at the facility.

She was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma.

Luckily, despite her body "shutting down", she was eventually well enough to return to rehab and continue with her weight loss.

"I'm feeling great! I'm thankful to be alive, and it's fun to be progressing as much as I am," Tammy told People.

Opening up about the hospital dash elsewhere, Tammy said she learnt from it and has become more determined to lose weight.

"I wised up and got my surgery. I was able to make my lungs strong enough to get my trach out, and then recently, the doctor cleared me to be off my oxygen machine during the daytime.

"Now I only wear my oxygen at night, along with my BiPap machine. I monitor my oxygen levels throughout the day and keep my machine on hand in case I need it," she explained in a new interview.

The TLC reality star still needs to use the oxygen machine after her lungs were damaged when she was on life support.
