1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has been heavily criticised for failing to properly engage in therapy sessions during her quest to lose weight.
The 36-year-old was seen by a therapist during her time on the TLC reality show, but Tammy struggled to open up about her addiction issues.
During one of their sessions, Tammy was asked what feelings she used to get from overeating, but she stopped the conversation by saying: "Nothing. I don't want to talk about it.
"I really don't want to talk about all that."
Fans of 1000-lb Sisters have hit out at Tammy for being "insanely rude" to the therapist and shutting down the session.
Taking to Reddit, one person wrote: "It's gotta be frustrating to have sessions with a 600lb 30 something year old who acts like a child when you ask basic get to know you questions."
"Tammy was always insanely rude to that therapist," another said.
A third fan added: "Sometimes a therapist's job is to challenge a client's dysfunctional thinking. Tammy's been shutting down on people since Season 1.
"She's immature and sulky. She wants to lose weight, but doesn't want to put the work in to change her mode of thinking."
However, other fans suggested it was actually the therapist who was at fault.
"Rewatching this episode this therapist is super annoying to me. She seems rushed, impatient and honestly annoyed with Tammy," one fan said.
Another suggested: "Maybe it's just me but I got a vibe that the therapist was a little too excited about being on camera," while a third person agreed: "Yeah any therapist who agrees to film with a client for TV is beyond a red flag to me.
"I'm not even sure how that's legal tbh."
Offering a suggestion as to why the sessions seemed so dramatic, one viewer said: "I was thinking we were only seeing part of her therapy sessions. Hopefully something productive was done that was not shown."
During the episode, Tammy broke down in tears as she revealed why she was so reluctant to open up about her feelings.
Speaking to the cameras, she said: "It was a hard time for me, a lot of mental health is letting go, I don't want to go through that all again."
