10 Best AI Visibility Tools for Small Businesses

We compared 10 of AI visibility tools on what matters at small business scale: the price of the plan you'll really use, which AI platforms that plan covers, how many questions it tracks, and whether it helps you fix what it finds.

Quick answer:

  • Best overall for small businesses: Searcherries. Searcherries starts at $10/month and covers six AI platforms, with GA4, Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools on every plan.

  • Businesses with a physical location: BrightLocal.

  • Already paying for an SEO suite: Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit or Ahrefs Brand Radar.

  • Hundreds of prompts on a modest budget: SE Visible.

Why small businesses need to track AI visibility

Rank tracking stops at the list of links

A rank tracker tells you where your page sits in Google. It can't tell you whether ChatGPT mentions you when someone asks for a recommendation, or which competitor it names in your place. An AI visibility tool runs those questions on a schedule, saves the answers, and shows you how often your brand appears, where it appears in the answer, and which pages the AI cited to build it.

Smaller brands are easier to leave out

A national brand shows up in AI answers partly because thousands of pages already mention it. A local bakery or a 10-person SaaS company has far fewer of those mentions. AI answers draw on review sites, directories, Reddit threads, and comparison articles, so if you're missing from those sources, you're usually missing from the answer too. Tracking shows which sources the AI cites for your category, which tells you where to get mentioned next.

The plan has to fit the budget

Enterprise platforms such as Profound don't publish prices and start with a sales demo. A small business needs self-serve plans, monthly billing, and a free trial. Entry prices can also mislead: some tools charge extra for each AI platform you add, so the plan you need costs more than the one on the pricing page.

What to look for in an AI visibility tool

  1. The price of the plan you'll use. Otterly's $29 Lite plan covers four AI platforms, and Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Claude cost $9, $9, and $29 a month on top. Add all three and Lite costs $76.

  2. The AI platforms on that plan. If your customers search on Google and use ChatGPT, a tool that covers those well may be enough. If you sell to other businesses, check for Perplexity and Claude as well.

  3. The number of prompts. Most small businesses learn a lot from 10 to 50 well-chosen customer questions tracked daily. A 400-prompt allowance is wasted on a business that will act on twelve.

  4. Help with the fix. Tracking shows where you're missing. Closing the gap takes new pages, mentions on the sites AI cites, and a site AI crawlers can read. Some tools include an article writer, site audits, or a ranked action list. Others leave that work to you.

  5. A link to your traffic data. A tool that connects GA4 or Search Console shows whether AI mentions turn into visits.

10 AI visibility tools worth considering

The list starts with the two tools we'd shortlist first for a small business, then covers trackers, local SEO, and the AI add-ons inside larger SEO suites. Each entry lists the standout feature, AI platform coverage, the main limitation, and pricing.

1. Searcherries

Category:AI visibility tracker for small businesses, SaaS teams, and agencies

Searcherries checks the questions your customers ask on a daily schedule and stores every answer. Each project has its own country and language. Competitors are found automatically from the answers, with how often and at what position each brand appears, and the Citations report lists every URL the AI platforms cite.

Its strongest argument for a small business is price. Starter costs $120 a year, or $10 a month, and every plan covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, and Grok with no per-platform add-ons. Plans run on question units: a question tracked on three platforms uses one unit and a question tracked on all six uses two, so Starter's 10 units cover 10 questions on three platforms or five on all six.

Searcherries also connects Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools on every plan, with a sign-in through your Google or Microsoft account. The AI Traffic report shows visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other assistants, with sessions, engaged sessions, conversions, and landing pages, next to your organic clicks and impressions. A read-only MCP server lets Claude, Codex, Cursor, or another MCP client read your tracking data and return a prioritized action plan.

Best for: Small businesses, SaaS teams, and small agencies that want the widest platform coverage at the lowest price.

Standout feature: GA4, Search Console, and Bing data in the same project as your AI answers, so you can check whether a ChatGPT mention turned into visits and leads.

AI platforms: Six on every plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, and Grok, updated daily.

Limitation: Searcherries tracks and reports. It has no article writer and no white-label PDF reports, so the content work happens elsewhere. Ten question units also run out quickly if you want every question on all six platforms.

Pricing: Starter is $13/month, or $120/year. Pro is $59/month, or $47/month billed annually, with 50 questions and 10 projects. Both come with a 14-day free trial.

2. Writesonic

Category: AI search visibility platform with content and site audit tools

Writesonic was built for AI search visibility. It runs your prompts on AI platforms the way a customer would ask them and keeps every answer, so you can open any prompt and see the full response, the brands it named, the sources it cited, and the sub-queries (query fan-outs) the model ran to put it together.

Best for: Lean marketing teams that want to see where AI recommends competitors and fix it without hiring an agency.

Standout feature: Prompt-level data. Each tracked prompt shows the full AI answer with brand mentions, cited sources, and query fan-outs, so you know which questions you're losing and to whom.

AI platforms: Self-serve plans track ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews daily, with ads monitoring for ChatGPT and Google AI. Enterprise covers all 10 platforms Writesonic supports, including Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, and Google AI Mode.

Limitation: Sentiment analysis starts on Growth ($399/month). The full Action Center, GA4 integration, and tracking for Perplexity or Claude sit on Enterprise. Starter includes one user and one project.

Pricing: Starter is $79/month billed annually ($99 month to month) for 50 prompts. Basic is $199/month and Growth is $399/month, both billed annually. Every self-serve plan starts with a free trial, and no credit card is needed.

3. Otterly.AI

Category: AI search monitoring

Otterly.AI is one of the better-known entry points into AI visibility tracking. The Lite plan checks 15 prompts a day across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot, with unlimited team members, support for more than 50 countries, and ChatGPT ads tracking. It also includes a GEO audit that checks pages for AI search readiness.

Best for: Solo marketers who want daily numbers on a short prompt list.

Standout feature: Daily tracking and unlimited seats on a $29 plan, plus 1,000 GEO URL audits a month.

AI platforms: Four on Lite. Gemini and Google AI Mode cost $9/month each on Lite, and Claude costs $29/month.

Limitation: Lite comes with one workspace and three recommendations a week. API access, MCP access, unlimited recommendations, and the Looker Studio connector start on Standard at $189/month.

Pricing: Lite is $29/month, or $25/month billed annually. Standard is $189/month for 100 prompts.

4. Mangools AI Search Watcher

Category: AI visibility monitoring from a budget SEO suite

Mangools makes KWFinder, SERPWatcher, and three other beginner-friendly SEO tools. AI Search Watcher tracks how AI platforms mention your brand, compares you with competitors, and suggests prompts when you don't know where to start. AI answers vary from one run to the next, so it runs each prompt several times per check and reports average positions and visibility scores.

Best for: Business owners who want to see AI tracking in action before paying for anything.

Standout feature: Eight AI platforms, including Claude, Grok, Mistral, and Llama, which few tools at this price track.

AI platforms: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral, and Llama.

Limitation: The free plan covers 5 prompts with weekly updates. AI Search Watcher is a monitor: it shows where you and your competitors appear, and you decide what to change.

Pricing: Free plan available. Paid plans start at $34.90/month billed annually.

5. Ubersuggest

Category: Budget all-in-one SEO

Ubersuggest bundles keyword research, competitor analysis, rank tracking, site audits, and backlink data at a price aimed at solo operators. AI Search Visibility is part of every paid plan, next to AI keyword research and an AI writer.

Best for: Solo business owners who need basic SEO and a first look at AI visibility in one subscription.

Standout feature: AI tracking is included in the base price, and each tier lists its prompt count and update frequency.

AI platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews.

Limitation: The Individual plan tracks 10 prompts per brand and refreshes them monthly. Weekly updates come only with the top tier, and there's no API on any plan.

Pricing: Individual is $29/month.

6. BrightLocal

Category: Local SEO platform with AI tracking

BrightLocal covers local rank tracking with geo-grid maps, citation tracking, Google Business Profile audits, listings management, and review tools. Its Local AI Visibility Tracker is included from the entry Track plan and shows how your business appears in ChatGPT and Google's AI. From the Manage plan up, AI Insights turns your local SEO data into a prioritized to-do list.

Best for: Restaurants, clinics, trades, and other businesses that serve customers at a physical location.

Standout feature: AI visibility next to local rankings and Google Business Profile data for the same location.

AI platforms: ChatGPT and Google's AI.

Limitation: Only two AI platforms, and the platform works in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Pricing is per location, so a business with several locations pays more.

Pricing: Track is $41/month for one location, or $31/month billed annually. Manage is $54/month ($40 billed annually) and Grow is $65/month ($49 billed annually). The 14-day free trial doesn't need a card.

7. SE Visible

Category: Standalone AI visibility platform from SE Ranking

SE Visible is SE Ranking's AI visibility product. It collects AI responses through a browser, the same interface a person uses, refreshes them daily, and reports mentions, sentiment, competitors, and the domains and URLs that appear most often in answers. Every plan includes unlimited users.

Best for: Businesses and small agencies that want to track hundreds of prompts without an enterprise contract.

Standout feature: Volume. The Basic plan includes 200 prompts and three projects, about 30,000 analyzed AI answers a month.

AI platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. SE Ranking says Claude support is coming.

Limitation: Tracking is limited to seven countries (the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain), and white-label reporting isn't available yet. At $99 a month, the entry plan is a lot to pay for a dozen questions.

Pricing: Basic is $99/month, or about $79/month billed annually. Core is $189/month for 450 prompts. There's a 10-day free trial.

8. Peec AI

Category: AI search analytics

Peec AI is a Berlin-based analytics tool that tracks your visibility, position, sentiment, and share of voice against competitors every day. Its source reports show which domains and URLs AI retrieves for your topics, and its gap analysis lists sources that mention competitors but not you. Every plan includes unlimited users.

Best for: Small marketing teams that report AI visibility to a founder, a CMO, or clients.

Standout feature: Clear, shareable reports on sources and competitors, which matter when someone else has to read the numbers.

AI platforms: Three models of your choice on self-serve plans, picked from a list that includes ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini. A fourth model is a paid add-on, and Claude and Grok are reserved for Enterprise.

Limitation: Every self-serve plan stops at three models, whether you pay $95 or $495. For a business with one brand and a dozen questions, it's a lot of dashboard for the money.

Pricing: Starter is $95/month (€89) for 50 prompts and one project. Pro is $245/month for 150 prompts, and Advanced is $495/month for 350. Annual billing saves 15%.

9. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Category: AI visibility toolkit inside an SEO suite

Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit tracks custom prompts daily, scores your AI visibility, and includes AI competitor analysis, prompt research, and a site audit for AI readiness. It runs on Semrush's search data, which helps if you already use Semrush for keyword research.

Best for: Small teams that already pay for Semrush and want AI tracking in the same account.

Standout feature: Prompt research built on Semrush's keyword database, next to AI visibility reports for any domain.

AI platforms: ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, and Perplexity.

Limitation: The toolkit is priced per domain, so a second brand or market means a second license. Extra users start at $45/month, and the standalone toolkit lists no free trial.

Pricing: $99/month per domain billed annually, with 25 prompts. Semrush One Starter, which bundles the SEO toolkit with 50 AI prompts, is $199/month, or $165.17/month billed annually.

10. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Category: AI visibility research inside Ahrefs

Ahrefs Brand Radar has two parts. The AI Visibility Index maps brand mentions and citations across more than 448 million prompts built from Ahrefs' keyword data, with no setup. Custom Prompts tracks your own questions on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.

Best for: Businesses already on an Ahrefs plan that want to see which questions people ask AI about their market.

Standout feature: The prompt database. You can look up any brand or category and see who gets mentioned before you set up tracking.

AI platforms: Custom Prompts covers Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Claude.

Limitation: Custom Prompts needs a paid Ahrefs plan, and Lite includes 5 prompts and 150 checks a month. Each prompt uses one check per platform per update, and Claude uses eight, so costs climb quickly. Ahrefs notes that the Index has thinner coverage for brands with little search volume, which describes many small businesses.

Pricing: Ahrefs Lite is $129/month with 5 custom prompts included. Extra Custom Prompts packages start at $50/month, and the AI Visibility Index starts at $199/month.
