HYDERABAD: In a huge relief to the Telangana government, the Supreme Court on Monday ruled that 1,654 acres of prime land in upmarket tech-city area of Hyderabad - Manikonda Jagir village - belonged to the state and not the waqf board.
This effectively ended a 16-year legal battle that started in 2006 after the waqf board issued an errata notification annexing the massive chunk of land to the Dargah Hazrath Hussain Shah Vali, making it wakf property.
