Trump’s Iran war deadline passes as Strait of Hormuz expected to reopen

  • In Tuesday night’s ceasefire announcement, Trump said the U.S. has “already met and exceeded” its military objectives yet has not lifted a looming threat of resuming a bombing campaign.
  • Before the ceasefire, Trump had threatened devastating strikes on Iran's civilian infrastructure, including bridges and power plants.
  • He warned that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Tehran did not meet his deadline to reopen the strait.
