The Punjab Police set up a Special Investigation Team to probe a suspected human trafficking case related to Indian passengers on an aircraft run by Romania’s Legend Airlines, originally destined for Nicaragua, but detained in France.

The Punjab Police constituted a four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate offences of human trafficking involved in the Nicaragua Human Trafficking case, a press release from the Punjab Information and Public Relations Department said. Read further on Dynamite News:

A charter plane that was grounded in France for a human trafficking investigation arrived in India with 276 Indians aboard Tuesday, authorities said. The passengers had been heading to Nicaragua but were instead blocked inside a rural French airport for four days in an exceptional holiday ordeal.

Indian nationals mostly from the western Gujarat state and working in the UAE formed the majority of those onboard the flight. They were flying to Nicaragua to migrate to the U.S. or Canada, reports said.
