Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) Senior Vice President Xiaotong Zhu, also known as Tom Zhu has divested more than 82% of his Tesla holdings since 2023, raising concerns about insider confidence as CEO Elon Musk simultaneously threatens short sellers with “obliteration.”

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk will personally oversee the EV giant's sales in Europe as well as the U.S. after close aide Omead Afshar's exit from the company.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk did not name names but said he believes Chinese automakers are the most competitive in the world.

Zhu Xiaotong, who also goes by Tom Zhu, was praised by Elon for “burning the 3AM oil,” which refers to him working late into the night to keep production going.

Tom Zhu will have direct oversight for deliveries in all of the company's major markets and operations of its key production hubs, Reuters reports. 

There was recently talk of Elon Musk promoting Tom Zhu to global CEO, though now it seems he may have a different role. He used to be Tesla China's legal rep.

Not long ago, we learned that CEO Elon Musk may appoint Tesla China's Tom Zhu to the position of global CEO. However, new details suggest a different promotion.

Bloomberg reports that Tesla China president Tom Zhu is in Austin this week with some of his engineering team from China to help oversee the ramp of Giga Texas.
