LOS ANGELES — The FBI has abandoned its attempt to confiscate more than $1 million in cash that was seized from armored cars transporting the money for state-licensed marijuana businesses in California.

Empyreal Logistics, a Pennsylvania-based company that transports cash from state-licensed marijuana businesses, reached a settlement with the San Bernardino County, California Sheriff's Department, which had seized more than $1 million from its armored cars.

The settlement came after the Justice Department agreed to return more than $1 million in proceeds from state-licensed marijuana businesses in California.

Empyreal Logistics agreed to drop its claims against the Justice Department, but it is still suing San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus.

A federal judge declined to issue a temporary restraining order, saying the evidence of legal violations is insufficient at this point.
