India's opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi, stages a remarkable comeback in the national election, challenging PM Modi's ruling party.

The verdict is out. Even though the BJP-led NDA has the numbers to form the government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party has well fallen short of the 400-paar slogan that dominated its campaign. 

Narendra Modi secured a third term as India’s prime minister following hard-fought elections involving nearly one billion voters determined to shape history in the world’s largest democracy.

Between March 31 to May 30, PM Narendra Modi conducted public meetings across 151 constituencies, of which the BJP-led NDA won 85 – a strike rate of 56 per cent. 

It was a shot in the arm for India's main opposition Congress after poll results Tuesday showed the grand old party was close to doubling its seats despite starting as underdogs.

As none of the major parties has received a full majority in the Lok Sabha elections with counting almost coming to an end, the Congress party will hold discussions with its allies as well as "new partners," party president Mallikarjun Kharge said on Tuesday. Read further on Dynamite News:
