Dutch tech giant ASML, which supplies chipmaking machines to the semiconductor industry, reported Wednesday a rise in annual net profit despite a high-tech trade spat between China and the West.

The total number of ASML's DUV tools in China set to reach 600 units by late 2025 to early 2026.

The Netherlands has reportedly agreed to impose its own controls on semiconductor sales to China, following U.S. measures in October.

Details remain unclear, and CEO Peter Wennink has warned that a broad ban could hammer supply chains.
