A velodrome will be established in Mysuru at a cost of ₹10 crore, according to the State Budget 2023-24 presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday.

What was announced by Minister Siddaramaiah during his last tenure about the Film City being developed in Mysuru district, will prevail. The Chief Minister, in the State Budget 2023-24 presented on Friday, said the proposed film city will be come up in Mysuru under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Museums became the centres of attention of the tourism sector in the Budget. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that “Karnataka Archaeological Museum and Art Gallery” will be established in Mysuru on a two-and-a-half-acre government land near Chamundi Vihar stadium to exhibit the rich art and cultural heritage of Karnataka. 

The long wait to see the super speciality hospital and the trauma care center on KRS Road in Mysuru become fully functional may end soon as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has allocated funds in the State Budget presented by him on Friday to operationalize the facilities.

Kittur Karnataka and Kalyana Karnataka regions seem to have been given a fair deal in the Budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, with several districts of the region being included for various projects apart from continuing and strengthening some old schemes and projects.

The CM has announced that a state-of-the-art skill laboratory, research centres and indoor sports facilities will be launched in different parts of the State, including in Mysuru, while the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science will establish colleges of allied health sciences in Mysuru district.

The ambitious ‘One Week One Lab’ (OWOL) campaign of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) got off to a start at the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) here on Monday, July 3.

In the last seven decades, the Mysuru-based CSIR-CFTRI has developed nearly 400 technologies and over 4,500 licencees’ commercialised several technologies that were transferred to them by the premier institute.
