LEXINGTON, Ky. – Hot summer temperatures will return to some of the Eastern Kentucky areas devastated by deadly floods this week, prompting a new safety concern for the state as residents attempt to cleanup their communities – some doing so without any power.

"It's going to take years to rebuild. People left with absolutely nothing," said Gov. Andy Beshear, as recovery begins. "And we continue to find bodies of our brothers and sisters that we have lost."

LEXINGTON, Ky. — As search and rescue efforts continue in flood-ravaged Eastern Kentucky, the forecast isn’t giving residents or rescuers a break, with more storms and heat expected to bear down on the region this week.

At least 37 have been confirmed killed in flooding and hundreds remain unaccounted for. The governor warned that high winds could create the danger of falling trees and utility poles.
