Team Penske’s Joey Logano was the last of the 10-car final round to qualify and bolted to the top of the speed chart with an average lap speed of 181.947 mph to win the pole for Sunday’s Daytona 500.

Two of the six open entries have now guaranteed themselves a spot in the 66th running of the Daytona 500.

LMC, which fields two full-time entries in NASCAR’s Cup Series and a part-time entry for Johnson, will make its Extreme E debut in the Feb. 17-18 Desert X Prix with drivers Travis Pastrana and Gray Leadbetter.

Bayne, the 2011 Daytona 500 champion, will join LMC as a driver optimization leader for the 2024 Cup Series season working under LMC’s new competition advisor, Matt Kenseth.

The ceremony began by honoring Janet Guthrie with the Landmark Award for outstanding contributions to NASCAR. 

The team, co-owned by seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, recently added AdventHealth as a sponsor well.
