President Donald Trump's administration has escalated its ongoing battle with Harvard, threatening to revoke the university’s ability to host international students, who make up 27% of the campus

The Trump administration has recently revoked the visas of more than 1,300 foreign college students – detaining some – and launched immigration enforcement actions on college campuses across the country. This has raised concerns among the more than 1.1 million international students studying at U.S. universities.

Over 50 international students from Texas universities have seen their legal status revoked

Students from University of North Texas, UT-Dallas, Texas A&M, UT-Rio Grande, Texas Woman’s University, Texas Tech and other schools have been affected.

As part of their federal election campaign, the Coalition announced plans to limit the number of international students able to commence study each year to 240,000, “focused on driving […] housing availability and affordability”.

The Trump administration has said it has revoked the visas of more than 300 international students across the country in the last three weeks.
