NEW YORK — Four Chinatown residents died early Tuesday after a raging e-bike fire tore through a repair shop previously flagged for unsafe conditions, with scores of terrified survivors fleeing into the darkness outside their homes.

Four more lives were lost to lithium-ion battery explosions in New York City today. The FDNY reports that it has already been called out to more than a hundred fires relating to lithium-ion devices this year. The death toll is currently at 13 lives lost.
