UK announces major immigration rule changes from October 2026

The UK has announced wide-ranging immigration rule changes from October 8, covering Erasmus+, protections for modern slavery and domestic abuse victims, the EU Settlement Scheme and Hong Kong BN(O) families. Separate changes to student finances and religious-worker routes will take effect later.
