Blast from the past as Fort Scratchley fires up memories of submarine attack on Newcastle
Exactly 80 years after Newcastle was rocked by shells fired from a Japanese submarine, the guns at Fort Scratchley that fired in anger that night have been once again blasted into life - only this time in commemoration, not confrontation.
