Members of the Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission and the Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board met Wednesday to hear an update on the Blue Grass Army Depot’s chemical weapons destruction plant closing operations.

The United States Senate has earmarked $3.3 million for the planning and design of a munitions supply facility at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond.

A temporary hold on hunting was put in place while chemical weapons disposal operations were active. It’s being lifted starting January 20 for the start of Kentucky’s small game and waterfowl hunting seasons.
