ATLANTA — A team of national Democratic Party officials met Thursday with Atlanta leaders to scope out whether State Farm Arena — which has been used for basketball games, pop concerts and early voting — could be transformed into the host site of the next Democratic National Convention.

CHICAGO — Touting the city’s bona fides, Chicago politicians and business leaders last week said the city was prepared to host the Democratic National Convention in 2024 and that the major national event would provide a much-needed spark to Chicago’s pandemic-ravaged hospitality industries.

After touting Chicago’s abundance of hotel rooms, an array of world-class restaurants and “arts and culture” second to none, the mayor added: “I will also say, we’re a really fun city in the summer time.”
