Indian investigative agencies on Friday questioned a man they extradited from the United States and charged with being a "mastermind" of the deadly 2008 Mumbai siege.

A Pakistan-born Canadian citizen wanted for his role in the deadly 2008 Mumbai siege landed in New Delhi Thursday after his extradition from the United States, Indian law enforcement said.

A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is likely to visit USA very soon to complete the formalities for the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, who is wanted in India for his role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, sources said. Read further on Dynamite News:

The American allegation is one that has cast a dark shadow on New Delhi’s credibility in terms of both covert capacity and public messaging, which must be addressed.

The Biden administration has urged a court in California to deny the writ of habeas corpus filed by Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman Tahawwur Rana and reiterated that he be extradited to India where he is sought for his involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Rana, 62, challenged his extradition by the Government of India.

Pakistani-origin terror convict Tahawwur Rana, whose extradition to India has received a green signal, was “very relaxed” in the days after the 26/11 attacks.
