Technology giant Microsoft on Wednesday said its profit soared above expectations in the recently ended quarter, driven by its cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) units.

With Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) preparing to report fourth-quarter results after markets close today, expectations are high, both for the tech giant and the ETFs riding its AI wave. Wall Street analysts are estimating revenue of $73.8 billion and earnings per share of close to $3.37.

"It’s becoming crystal clear that any innovation around AI at Apple is not coming from inside the walls of Apple Park," Ives wrote.
