The Latest Breaking News from Census

As Nigeria’s National Population Commission prepares for a national census scheduled for May 2022 – the first since 2006 – The Conversation Africa’s Wale Fatade asked demographer and social statistician Akanni Akinyemi what a census entails and how ready the country is for the exercise.

A report Thursday will reveal parts of the country that were likely undercounted — possibly resulting in a loss of funds and representation.

Government agency National Records of Scotland sent out letters to every household in the country last week, with participation required by law.

Roadshow visitors are being encouraged to help fill it in before March 20.

There are several changes to the 2022 form, including new questions on working from home, the internet, renewable energy and smoking.

The government and the Central Statistics Office decided to delay the logistical exercise carried out every five years because of the pandemic, meaning that the last census was in 2016

Scots have been issued an urgent warning about scams ahead of the 2022 Census, with Advice Direct Scotland urging people to not give out personal or financial information

Scots are also being warned not to get caught out by Census scammers.
