In a major setback to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Kalaburagi district, the Opposition Congress successfully won seven out of nine Assembly seats, and the BJP slipped from the five seats it won in the last elections to two this election

The Congress has won all five seats in Ballari and two seats in Vijayanagara district, which was recently carved out of Ballari. The BJP has been left with only one seat (Hadagali) in the united Ballari district.

In a spectacular performance, the Congress bagged 26 seats out of 41 in Kalyana Karnataka in the 2023 Assembly Elections, leaving 10 for the BJP and three for the Janata Dal (Secular) and two for others
