The University of Idaho's guidance to faculty on classroom discussion makes plain a First Amendment problem

The national organization for university faculty has “resoundingly” criticized the UNC System Board of Governors and the UNC System office for sustaining what the group called a climate of institutional racism and for violating standards of shared governance and academic freedom.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A national organization of university faculty members released a report Thursday criticizing the University of North Carolina System, saying it violates standards of shared governance, threatens academic freedom and fosters institutional racism.

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) president Randi Weingarten and American Association of University Professors (AAUP) president Irene Mulvey met with Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) on March 21 about a proposed bill that would expand public-sector collective bargaining in Colorado.
