Nandita Das’s Zwigato, produced by Applause Entertainment, was created for a certain purpose. Says Sameer Nair of Applause Entertainment, “Zwigato has so many nuanced layers and we aren’t screaming from the rooftops about any of them. It’s just life as it happens, and many of us must appreciate how fortunate we are to be on the better side of life.”
Sameer, who has been an integral part of the Indian entertainment industry for more than 40 years, says Zwigato aims to reach out to a sensitive audience. “I guess our hope is that the more people who see it, the more we can spread this message of hope in adversity. And the fact that if all of us are just a little kinder, it would make the world a much better place.”
