Zuhair Murad closed out Paris Couture Week with a collection that felt less like a fashion presentation and more like a declaration. Titled around the idea of an unbreakable heroine, the Fall 2026 couture show drew from fairy tales, secret gardens and enchanted castles, but grounded that fantasy in a message about resilience. The show notes described a woman who "remains standing, powerful, unbroken, protective, and magnificent" even as the world around her falls apart, and that tension between fragility and strength shaped nearly every look that came down the runway.
A Story Told in Shadow and Light
What set this collection apart was how deliberately it moved between darkness and light. Dramatic black velvet gowns and sweeping capes opened the story, heavy with shadow, before giving way to delicate ball skirts covered in blooms and gowns shimmering with embroidery. Butterflies seemed to burst from bodices, a recurring motif that tied the collection's romantic references back to its central theme of transformation. It is a technique Murad has used before, but here it carried more emotional weight, as though each gown were shedding something before becoming what it was meant to be.
