With an “insatiable curiosity about the world,” Zohran Mamdani walked into the Daily Monitor newsroom in Uganda in 2007 as a teenager with the hopes of becoming a “top reporter.”
Mamdani’s father had arranged for his son to spend time at the newspaper with the intention of his teenager learning more about current affairs.
