A Zoey 101 film starring Jamie Lynn Spears is in the works, 15 years after the Nickelodeon series ended.

Zoey 101, which starred Britney Spears’ little sister Jamie Lynn, was about a group of teens at a boarding school in California. Four seasons of the show aired from 2005 until 2008, ending when Lynn became pregnant at 16.

Many original cast members are set to return, including Erin Sanders (Quinn Pensky), Sean Flynn (Chase Matthews), Matthew Underwood (Logan Reese), Christopher Massey (Michael Barrett), Abby Wilde (Stacey Dillsen), and Jack Salvatore (Mark Del Figgalo).

The film, currently titled Zoey 102, will take fans back to Pacific Coast Academy for an alumni wedding.

Spears in a statement, “I’m beyond thrilled to be back alongside my PCA family and continue the story of Zoey and all the characters fans know and love.

“As an executive producer, it’s been an exciting opportunity to work with such incredible talent as well as Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.”

However, it appears as though Victoria Justice, who played Lola Martinez, and Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole Bristow, are not involved in the film.

Last year, Nikolas made several allegations against Zoey 101 and iCarly creator Dan Schneider.

She staged a protest outside of Nickelodeon’s headquarters and said: “I did not feel protected at Nickelodeon as a child, personally. I’m demanding that Nickelodeon starts protecting children and not predators.”

Nikolas has also spoken out against the reboot. On Twitter, she said: “Take note of people in this industry that do not advocate publicly nor privately to create safer environments by even simply supporting individuals close to them that have bravely come forward.

“Birds of a feather. Flock together.”

She added: “Do NOT support a network that can’t even take accountability especially when it comes to CHILDREN. That is beyond low…”

In March 2021, Justice acknowledged the rumours of a reboot and said: "To be honest with you. I don’t really know much about it. I was hearing things about a reboot, but no one had ever really talked to me specifically about it.

“So I don’t really know exactly what’s going on. But I mean, I love that cast, I love that show... but there’s nothing official right now."

She has yet to comment on her involvement, or lack thereof, in the upcoming film.

The film is currently in production and is set to be released later this year on Paramount+.
