A dogwalker discovered a ziplock bag filled with bullets in New York City's Central Park believed to be linked to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

On December 4, Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside a Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

Authorities quickly identified 26-year-old Luigi Mangione as the prime suspect and arrested him days later in Altoona, Pennsylvania, at a McDonald's.

On Tuesday a dog walker discovered a bag of bullets believed to be connected to the assassination in Central Park, strengthening the NYPD's case.

The bag was found to have markings similar to those on shell casings left at the crime scene.

Mangione faces extradition to New York to face charges of second-degree murder. If he is extradited and convicted, he could face significant jail time for the murder of Thompson.
