Zipcar confirms it is ceasing UK operations as hopes of it staying in London fail

Car-sharing platform Zipcar has confirmed its plans to cease UK operations within weeks, with 650,000 drivers set to be impacted.

The US-based company, owned by car rental giant Avis Budget, announced the proposed exit in December last year, pending the outcome of a consultation with its 71 employees.
