Zip World announces postponement of newest attraction, Skyflyer

Zip World has taken the decision to postpone their latest attraction, the Skyflyer. In a post on Instagram, the outdoor adventure company announced that the attraction had been postponed "until further notice".

Skyflyer, which was unveiled earlier this year, offers visitors the chance to see North Wales from above in an airship that would take them 400ft in the air. In the social media statement, Zip World gave customers a reason for the postponement, writing: "During our rigorous testing process, we identified an engineering and design challenge which will need to be addressed before our customers can enjoy the attraction."

The post continued: "We will be announcing a new date for launching Skyflyer once we are satisfied that it meets our standards."

Sean Taylor, Zip World owner and president, previously said of the attraction: "The North Wales coastline boasts some of the best views in the country, so we couldn't have picked a better location to be the home of this sightseeing experience.

"Skyflyer will be a chance for people of all ages and abilities to sit back and enjoy panoramic views from above in a relaxed atmosphere."

Zip World, itself, was launched in 2013 at Llechwedd Slate Caverns near the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The company's recent statement emphasises that it prides itself on bringing customers "unique and world-class experiences".

The statement ended by telling customers that they will be contacted directly by Monday, August 1 to arrange postponements or refunds for the Skyflyer.
