Zimbabwe cricketer breaks Sachin Tendulkar world record in Australia clash

• Zimbabwe cricketer Brendan Taylor became the longest-serving one-day international cricketer ever when he took to the field for his side for their match against Australia on Tuesday.
• Taylor’s one-day international career now stretches back 22 years and four months, taking him past the previous world record held by Indian great Sachin Tendulkar, who played the format for 22 years and three months.
• Tendulkar still has the most runs in one-day international history (18,426) and the most one-day international appearances (463).
• Taylor made his debut back in 2004 and has scored 11 one-day international hundreds for his country.
• He retired in 2021 and was then banned for three-and-a-half years three for breaching the ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Anti-Doping codes in 2022, but came out of retirement last year to represent his country again following his ban.
