Zidane Iqbal shares one-word verdict on Charlie McNeill after Manchester United heroics

Manchester United starlet Zidane Iqbal was not surprised to see Charlie McNeill grab a superb hat-trick away from the senior side's pre-season tour after his academy teammate made his mark against Bayern Munich.

Having started the summer schedule with an eye-catching victory over Liverpool in Bangkok, the senior side have since picked up wins against Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace, though a last-minute Calum Chambers goal scuppered their 100 per cent record as they drew 2-2 with Aston Villa in Perth. McNeill and his teammates have been putting in the hard yards elsewhere.

Iqbal was included in the touring party as he continues to impress United manager Erik ten Hag. As for McNeill, his first impression came from afar with three goals coming against Bayern in a resounding victory over the Germans.

With the manager still without Cristiano Ronaldo due to a family matter - and ongoing speculation over his future - United are lacking natural striking options on tour, even though Anthony Martial has netted three goals. There have since been calls from supporters for McNeill to jet across after his Bayern heroics.

Reacting to his goals and that 5-0 victory, McNeill posted a short update on Instagram and Iqbal was clearly impressed. Uploading an image from the game, McNeill said: "Nice to end the trip away in Germany with a hat-trick against Bayern." The post drew in thousands of likes and comments from United supporters.

Having seen it all before in the age-group teams, Iqbal kept it short and sweet with his response. He 'liked' the post and replied to the frontman with a one-word verdict: "Normal."
