Erik ten Hag decided that his Manchester United squad would train in Cyprus on Friday, following Thursday’s 3-2 Europa League win over Omonia Nicosia.
Instead of travelling back to England, a number of players were put through their paces in the glorious sunshine. 10 of the starting XI remained at the team hotel to work on recovery.
Tyrell Malacia, who was replaced by Luke Shaw at half-time, was the only member of the starting XI who attended training. Two-goal hero Marcus Rashford stayed at the hotel with those undergoing lighter sessions.

Malacia and Shaw work up a sweat
Malacia and Shaw are vying for the same position ahead of Sunday’s trip to Everton. The former has been at fault for a handful of goals in the past week, including Omonia’s shock opener.
Shaw is hoping to reclaim his place, while Malacia’s inclusion in the main training group may be a warning to the youngster, especially considering Jadon Sancho - who was also hooked at half-time - was left at the hotel. Both put the hard yards in on the training pitch in sprints and rondos.
Iqbal delights with two lovely flicks
Zidane Iqbal hasn't made a senior appearance since his debut 10 months ago, but he's still showing clear signs of progression. During the rondo session, he was backed into a corner on multiple occasions but managed to find his way out with some fantastic skill.
Dubravka rebuilding fitness
Martin Dubravka was named on the bench for the Omonia win but is likely still working on his match fitness. The goalkeeper had to withdraw from the Slovakia squad due to injury over the international break.
The back-up shot-stopper was seen working his way back to full strength alongside Tom Heaton in the sunshine. Dubravka may have played against Omonia but for his injury problem so will be eyeing next week’s home contest against the same opposition as a chance to make his mark.
