Swiss watchmaker Zenith continues its support for the global fight against breast cancer through the auctioning of a timepiece to raise funds for Susan G. Komen.
In a partnership with Phillips, the auction of the Chronomaster Original Pink "Unique Piece For Susan G. Komen" will take place online and in New York City from June 10-11.
Housed in a 38mm steel case with diamond-set lugs, this model has a striking metallic dial in pink -- a colour globally associated with breast cancer awareness.
It is equipped with the latest generation of the El Primero automatic high-frequency chronograph calibre with 1/10th of a second measurement.
Through the upcoming auction of Zenith's one-of-a kind model, 100% of the proceeds will help fund research and support for patients undergoing treatment.
Last October -- Breast Cancer Awareness Month -- the luxury watch brand introduced the Chronomaster Original Pink edition, and a portion of the sales proceeds were previously donated to Komen.
The nonprofit organisation was founded in Dallas, Texas, by Nancy G. Brinker, whose older sister Susan G. Komen passed away in 1980 at the age of 36, after a three-year battle with breast cancer.
Its comprehensive 360-degree approach to fighting this disease includes driving research breakthroughs, improving access to high-quality care, offering direct patient support and empowering people with trustworthy information.
Women's empowerment is one of the main pillars of the Zenith Horiz-on initiative. Based in Le Locle, Neuchâtel, the company has been working to raise awareness about breast cancer, an indiscriminate disease that affects one in every eight women and impacts countless lives around the world.
A new development of the partnership with Komen is the launch of "Time To Make An Impact" that shares stories of breast cancer survivors and their supporters, to amplify their voices to the millions of people who turn to the organisation for education and support.
