Zelensky’s ‘victory plan’: Is the war in Ukraine reaching its endgame?

The coming weeks could be decisive for the war in Ukraine: As President Volodymyr Zelensky calls for bold action from Western allies to achieve his “victory plan”, former US president Donald Trump has pledged that Washington will “get out” of the conflict if he wins back the White House in November. And Ukrainians face the prospect of another brutal winter at war with diminishing energy resources.

“We are closer to the peace than we think. We are closer to the end of the war," Zelensky told US broadcaster ABC News on Monday. "Decisive action now could hasten the just end of Russian aggression against Ukraine next year."
