- Kyiv expects the next session of trilateral peace talks in March to lead to a meeting of Russia and Ukraine leaders, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday.
- Mr Zelensky gave an update on social media after a phone call with US President Donald Trump Wednesday, writing, “We expect this meeting to create an opportunity to move talks to the leaders' level. President Trump supports this sequence of steps.”
- "This is the only way to resolve all the complex and sensitive issues and finally end the war,” he added, with more talks between Ukrainian and U.S. negotiators slated for Thursday.
- The bilateral discussions this week between Ukraine and the US will involve preparing economic documents and addressing post-war reconstruction, with Ukraine aiming to secure substantial funding.
- Mr Zelensky also dismissed Russian allegations that Ukraine is seeking nuclear weapons as political pressure, reaffirming Ukraine's non-nuclear status and urging a US response to the dangerous rhetoric.
